About the Webinar

Only about 20% of people in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields are women, and they represent less than 15% of executive roles in the technology sector, according to the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics. Given these realities, author Kelly Simmons explores possible reasons why this might be true and shares her experiences and insights learned while writing the book, Beating the Odds: Winning Strategies of Women in STEM — which highlights stories of women who have risen to leadership in technical roles or fields. Aiming to inspire and encourage, she shares the career trajectories, challenges, and triumphs of real women she interviewed who successfully advanced to roles as Directors, Vice Presidents, or C-level positions in engineering, technical, or scientific fields.

Join us for a webinar on ways that women leaders in the technology sector can overcome common barriers, beat the odds, and find personal and professional success. Discover critical turning points that can make or break careers, and gain tools for putting insights into action — helpful guidance both for individual women leaders themselves, and the organizations supporting them.
